
ArmInfo. Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev announced Azerbaijan's accession as a founding member of the Peace Council being established by US President Donald Trump and expressed confidence that the Council will become an effective international organization.
"Thank you for your letter inviting the Republic of Azerbaijan to join the Peace Council as a founding member. I accept this invitation as a sign of the mutually beneficial partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America, based on mutual respect, and as recognition of Azerbaijan's role in promoting peace and stability regionally and globally," Aliyev's response to the US President stated.
Azerbaijan joins the Peace Council "sharing its noble mission to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip and build a more secure and prosperous future for all those affected by this protracted conflict."
"I believe that the Peace Council will become an effective international organization and will successfully fulfill its mission. I express my sincere gratitude to you for your visionary leadership and efforts to strengthen peace. I wish you success in your duties as Chairman of the Peace Council," the Azerbaijani President emphasized.
Trump's letter to Aliyev noted that "the Peace Council will be unique in its kind, as nothing like this has ever existed before!" "Each participating country will be able to nominate a plenipotentiary representative to participate in Council meetings on its behalf. Attached to this letter, you will find the Comprehensive Plan and the Charter of the Peace Council, which await your signature and ratification," the American President noted. (INTERFAX)
