


ArmInfo. A construction company destroyed 327 trees in Gyulagarak, causing material damage to the state amounting to 4.479 million drams. The RA Investigative Committee reports that the damage has been fully compensated, and a criminal case has been opened against one person.
"During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case conducted by the Investigative Committee, it was established that in October-December 2024, a construction company destroyed 208 trees of various diameters, which were state property, in various reserves of the Gyulagarak forestry using construction equipment. As a result of procedural and evidentiary actions carried out during the preliminary investigation, it was also established that 119 trees of various diameters, which were the property of the community, were destroyed in the same manner in the administrative territory of the Gyulagarak village of Lori region. As a result of the above-mentioned actions, the state suffered major material damage in the amount of 4 million 479 thousand drams. A criminal case was initiated against one person under Article 387, Part 2, Clause 6 of the Criminal Code (illegal felling of trees, shrubs or vegetation or transportation of illegally obtained timber). During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, the damage caused to the state and the Gyulagarak community was fully compensated. The criminal case together along with the indictment, it was transferred to the supervisory authority.
