
ArmInfo. Regular political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Italy were held in Rome. They were chaired by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan and Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the positive dynamics of bilateral relations in recent years were discussed during the consultations, emphasizing the significant role of high- level contacts in promoting constructive political dialogue and further strengthening and expanding economic cooperation.
A wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda was discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of implementing joint steps in a number of areas, in particular, increasing bilateral trade, attracting investment, and developing cooperation in high technology, tourism, education, culture, and other fields. The interlocutors also discussed the strategic agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, as well as preparations for the 8th European Political Community Summit and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Armenia in 2026.
Kostanyan presented developments in the South Caucasus since the Washington Peace Summit of August 8, 2025. In particular, he mentioned the adoption of the US-Armenia framework for the implementation of the Trump Roadmap for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project on January 13 of this year during a meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
