
ArmInfo.The Sheikh Zayed Foundation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the names of the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity laureates. Among those honored is Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Armenian government reported.
According to the information, the Prize Committee highly values the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan as a process of peace, dialogue, normalization of relations, and conflict resolution between the two states. It is also emphasized that reconciliation is not a one-time action, but a continuous and consistent process. "The Secretary General of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, Mohamed Abdelsalam, highlighted the continuous, consistent, and principled efforts of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to establish and strengthen peace," the statement reads.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has also been awarded the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on February 4 of this year.
The award is named in honor of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the United Arab Emirates, and is presented to individuals and organizations, regardless of origin or location, who have worked tirelessly and selflessly for the advancement of human fraternity and have made significant progress toward peaceful coexistence. Since its inception in 2019, the award has recognized 16 laureates from 15 countries.
