ArmInfo. Russian President Vladimir Putin received an invitation from the United States through diplomatic channels to join the Gaza Peace Council. Moscow is studying it and hopes to contact the Americans to clarify the details, according to Dmitry Peskov, the president's press secretary.
"Yes, indeed, President Putin also received an invitation through diplomatic channels to join this Peace Council. We are currently studying all the details of this proposal, including hopes for contacts with the American side to clarify all the nuances," Peskov told reporters.
He was responding to a question about whether Russia had been invited to join the Council and whether there were any contacts with the United States on this matter.
It was previously reported that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had received an official invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Gaza Peace Council.
Trump had previously announced the formation of the Gaza Peace Council. The Council includes US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the American leader's son-in-law, investor Jared Kushner, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, World Bank President Ajay Banga and US Deputy National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel, the White House announced on Saturday.
It should be noted that the day before, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also received an official invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Gaza Peace Council. Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to making a meaningful contribution to achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, strengthening interstate trust, and global stability.
