ArmInfo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared a draft government resolution to increase the period of temporary stay for foreigners engaged in international road transport from visa-free countries from 90 to 180 days per calendar year, agency spokesperson Irina Volk announced on her Telegram channel. The measure is intended to ensure the continuity of international logistics and transport.
According to Parlamentskaya Gazeta, the extension will be granted on the condition that drivers submit applications for entry and residence via the "Gosuslugi RuID" mobile application-a digital platform designed specifically for foreign citizens from visa-free regimes. Applicants must attach copies of identification documents and proof of international transport activity to their filing. Foreign drivers who do not utilize the digital application will remain subject to the standard regulations, which limit temporary stays to a cumulative total of 90 days per calendar year.
Note, Armenian authorities had asked Russia to reconsider newly introduced regulations that reduced the stay of foreign heavy-duty truck drivers from 180 to 90 days.
