ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities have always addressed the issues of Armenian PoWs in Baku and will continue to do so, as announced by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, to reporters on January 19, while commenting on Azerbaijan's statements that they will not release the former military-political leadership of Artsakh under any circumstances.
According to the Speaker, an attempt will be made to find solutions for their release through negotiations. "The release of our compatriots is a key priority in ongoing discussions with Azerbaijan," Alen Simonyan emphasized. In response to the opposition's accusations on this matter, Simonyan pointed out that they have remained within the logic of previous developments. Military actions have taught them nothing. Additionally, the statements of Armenian opposition representatives echo those made by some Russian bloggers.
The Speaker intends to raise all these issues during his upcoming official visit to Moscow, which is already being prepared. There is no specific date yet for the return visit, but an invitation has been extended from Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko.
During this visit, if there is an opportunity, he will raise issues related to the activities of certain Russian media representatives, including Vladimir Solovyov and political analyst Alexander Dugin. Simonyan emphasized that responses to their statements will be provided in due course, not immediately.
