ArmInfo. Nelly Davtyan, Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is currently on a working visit to Ostrava, Czech Republic. She visited the document production facility of IN Groupe, where the first copies of some new biometric documents are being approved, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service.
According to the source, Nelly Davtyan had meetings with the company's document production manager, Stanislav Pospiszek, the designers of the biometric system implementation program, and printing specialists. Samples of identification cards for foreigners have already been approved: in particular, residence status cards, cards certifying legal residence, and foreign diplomat cards. Refugee and stateless person identification cards have been submitted for approval.
These new types of identification cards for refugees, stateless persons, and persons carrying out diplomatic missions in the Republic of Armenia have been provided for by the legislation regulating the sector for years, but have not been implemented until now. Issues related to the biometric passport of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia and its approval stages were also discussed, and the interconnected processes of the system's implementation were addressed. This included the schedule for approving the passport cover, data page, and visa pages, as well as the components of the self-service "all in one" process. The documents, like the RA citizen's identification card, will be produced to high standards, incorporating biometric data and security components.
