ArmInfo. Turkey opposes any military operation against Iran and supports efforts to protect regional stability, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated at a press briefing here on Thursday.
He expressed hope that the US and Iran will resolve the issues between them through mediators, other parties, or direct negotiations.
The minister emphasized that dialogue remains the only viable avenue for resolving disputes, warning that any widespread instability in Iran would exceed the region's ability to mitigate its consequences.
Turkey maintains close ties with Iran, and developments there are of direct concern to Ankara, Fidan emphasized.
