


ArmInfo. New parliamentary friendship groups will be established in the National Assembly of Armenia. The issue was discussed on January 14 during a meeting of the NA Committee on Foreign Relations.
Committee Chairman Sargis Khandanyan presented the idea of establishing an Armenia-Oman friendship group. He noted that Armenia has recently initiated an active political dialogue with Oman. Last year, Yerevan opened a permanent embassy in Oman, and creating an Armenia-Oman friendship group in the National Assembly would also be appropriate.
Sargis Khandanyan reported that the Colombian Parliament has expressed a desire to strengthen interparliamentary ties with Armenia. To achieve this goal, Colombia has proposed the creation of interparliamentary friendship groups. MP Tatevik Gasparyan brought up the topic of establishing an Armenia-Dominican Republic friendship group for discussion. She reported that during a working visit to Mexico in 2025, a meeting with the Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic led to an agreement to form parliamentary friendship groups. She also noted that a friendship group had already been established in the Dominican Republic in late May of the previous year.
