


ArmInfo. Armenia and Georgia will cooperate on issues related to migration. The RA NA Foreign Relations Committee has approved the draft agreement between Armenia and Georgia "On Readmission of Persons Residing Without a Permit," submitted for ratification, at its January 14 meeting.
According to RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan, the agreement applies to citizens living in the two countries without legal grounds. The document establishes the procedure for exchanging information on such persons between authorized state bodies of Armenia and Georgia, defines the documents used to verify a person's citizenship, and the communication channels through which a person's eligibility for readmission by the other party is confirmed. The Deputy Minister stated that the purpose of the agreement is to prevent and combat illegal migration, as well as to establish cooperation in migration. Armen Ghazaryan added that Armenia seeks to conclude readmission agreements with as many countries as possible, as such agreements are a key tool for preventing and combating illegal migration.
In turn, MP Hripsime Grigoryan reported that the agreement was signed on July 21, 2025, in Tbilisi. She also noted that the ratification of the document will contribute to the development of effective cooperation in the field of migration between the two countries.
