Developments surrounding Iran not discussed at Washington meeting -  Armenian FM

ArmInfo. Developments surrounding Iran were not discussed at a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at a press conference in Washington, responding to a question about whether developments in Iran and the promised 25% tariffs for countries cooperating with Iran had been discussed with American partners.

"Processes surrounding Iran were not discussed in Washington," he  said.

As a reminder, protests in Iran erupted on December 28 following the  collapse of the national currency and the rise in prices for  essential goods. Initially a social protest, the protests escalated  into riots, the burning of buildings, and the killing of law  enforcement officers. Iranian authorities responded harshly to the  protests.
