ArmInfo. In 2025, 30 deaths were recorded in the country's armed forces, but there were no murders committed as a result of non-statutory relations, as stated by Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan during a press conference in Yerevan on January 13.
According to him, for the first time in Armenia's modern history, no murders as a result of hazing were recorded in the country's armed forces during the reporting period. He added that there have been many such cases in previous years. "Of the 30 fatalities, six were related to lightning strikes and electric shocks, two were suicides or attempts to commit suicide, and two were due to health reasons. This does not apply to conscripts. The remaining 24 were due to reasons unrelated to service-traffic accidents, domestic issues, and illnesses," Papikyan clarified. The Minister added that the number of cases has decreased by 40% compared to 2024.
