Armenia has no intention of entering into arms race with anyone - RA  defense minister

ArmInfo. Armenia has no intention of entering into an arms race with anyone, including Azerbaijan. Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan stated this at a press conference in Yerevan on January 13.

He reiterated that this is the Armenian government's position, which  has been expressed repeatedly. Papikyan noted that this does not mean  that Armenia will stop purchasing weapons and equipment or  modernizing its armed forces. "As for plans, they exist," he added,  noting that he sees no point in discussing them now.

The minister also believes that certain media outlets and journalists  do not want to see the achievements recorded in the Armed Forces. In  this vein, he said that those journalists who wanted to see them  accompanied him to the Armed Forces and were introduced to the latest  weaponry acquired by the country.
