ArmInfo. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun (Dashnaktsutyun) party will announce its participation in the upcoming elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia today or tomorrow, the Hraparak newspaper reports.
According to the newspaper, the announcement may be made at a press conference convened by Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the ARF Supreme Assembly. The party itself declined to comment on its position regarding its participation in the elections. "NA Member of Parliament (MP) Kristine Vardanyan from the opposition Armenia faction urged people to wait for the announcement. However, according to our information, the ARF has decided this time to participate in an alliance with the political force led by second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. They may not announce this openly, but will indirectly inform about it," the report states.
The newspaper does not rule out the possibility that other forces, some of which did not participate in the previous parliamentary elections, will join the alliance. In turn, the Republican Party initiated discussions on the topic of "Armenia and megaprojects in the field of transport," which are expected to take place on January 14.
