Road to Upper Lars checkpoint remains closed for all vehicles

ArmInfo.The road to the Upper Lars checkpoint remains closed to all vehicles, according to a statement from the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, which provided an update on the road situation.

The previous day, a report was received that the checkpoint had been  opened exclusively for light vehicles, but the road was subsequently  closed again due to worsening weather conditions.

The Rescue Service reports that roads leading from the Amberd  high-mountain weather station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd  Fortress and Lake Kari are closed in Armenia. The Vardenyats Pass is  closed to vehicles with trailers.

Icy conditions are observed on the roads of Aparan, Aragats, Artik,  Chambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Sisian, Goris,  Ashotsk, and Amasia. A snowstorm is raging in Artik and Aragats.
