ArmInfo. Judge Sargis Petrosyan of the RA Anti- Corruption Court, who ordered the house arrest of Samvel Karapetyan, is guided strictly by the laws and the Constitution of Armenia in his work, as stated by Petrosyan while speaking to reporters on January 12, specifically answering a question about whether he receives "instructions via SMS" from the head of state.
The judge noted that he only receives SMS messages from family and friends. Addressing his recent involvement with the country's ruling Civil Contract party, Petrosyan recalled that he has served as a judge for a year and six months, and there is not a single instance that would indicate his bias. "For me, laws and the Constitution are what matter, not individuals," the judge stated.
It's worth noting that it was Petrosyan's decision that Tashir Group President Samvel Karapetyan was released from custody and placed under house arrest. In this regard, he emphasized that no agreements had been reached on this matter. He assured that all his judicial decisions, to a certain extent, contain bold decisions.
