According to the agency, restrictions on access to the Internet on the territory of the Islamic Republic were introduced on the evening of January 8, when participants of anti-government actions committed armed provocations in many cities of Iran.
We remind you that unrest broke out in Tehran on December 29, 2025 due to a sharp drop in the Iranian rial. On December 30, students joined the actions, and the protest actions quickly spread to the majority of large cities. On January 2, groups of unknown armed people appeared on the streets, there were frequent cases of direct clashes between the rebels and law enforcement.
Mayor of Tehran Alireza Zakani said that in the capital, rioters burned down 25 mosques, damaged 26 banks, 3 medical centers, 10 state institutions, 48 fire engines, 42 buses and ambulances, as well as 24 apartments.
