


ArmInfo. The Armenian Rescue Service reports that as of 10:40 AM on January 10, there are closed roads in the country. The Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all vehicle types.
Specifically, the roads leading from the Amberd high-mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are impassable. The highways in the Aparan region, as well as the section from the Jermuk junction to Saravan-Zanger, and the Vardenyats, Keti, and Jajur passes are also closed to trucks with trailers. Turns in Spitak are also challenging for trucks with trailers.
Heavy snowfall has been reported in the districts of Artashat, Ararat, Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Sisian, Meghri, Talin, Ani, Artik, Akhuryan, Ashotsk (buk), Ashtarak, Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Sevan, Gavar, Martuni, Vardenis, and the Dilijan curves.
Black ice has formed on roads in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Sevan, Chambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Goris, Ashotsk, and Amasia. The department urges all drivers use exclusively winter tires. It is also noted that, according to information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed to all types of transport.
