The Russian Armed Forces struck the Oreshnik missile system in response to the attack on Putin`s residence

ArmInfo. (RBC). On the night of Friday, January 9, Russian forces launched a massive strike using land- and sea-based long-range precision weapons against critical targets in Ukraine. The strikes were carried out in response to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin's residence in the Novgorod region, the Russian Defense Ministry press service reported.

The strike included the use of Oreshnik medium-range missile systems. Drone production facilities and energy infrastructure supporting the Ukrainian defense industry were hit.

The Defense Ministry assured that such "terrorist actions" by Kyiv "will not go unanswered" in the future. The ministry stated that the strike's objectives had been achieved.
