


ArmInfo. The first meeting of the Council for the Reform of the Armenian Apostolic Church took place. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this on his Facebook page.
According to him, the Council discussed the main areas of Church renewal, organizational steps, and upcoming work, based on the principles and goals set forth in the previously released statement. Pashinyan noted that the meeting discussed actions within the framework of the roadmap aimed at reforming the Armenian Apostolic Church. The importance of conducting the process in accordance with the principles of inclusiveness, public trust, and transparency was emphasized. The Council emphasized the need for steps aimed at consolidating the clergy and laity.
The Council also welcomed the decision of Archimandrite Gusan Alchanyan, Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Switzerland, to join the statement of 10 bishops on the need to reform the Armenian Apostolic Church. As a reminder, on December 5, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the creation of a coordinating council to organize the reform process of the Armenian Apostolic Church. He published a roadmap for addressing this issue. The statement establishing the council was signed by Nikol Pashinyan and 10 bishops, who also became members of the council.
