Armenian Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan and Bulgarian Ambassador to the Republic Nikola Nikolov emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral partnership, particularly in the areas of sustainable development, adaptation, and environmental protection, during a meeting in Yerevan.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Environment, during their discussions, the parties also touched upon the organization of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17). Matevosyan emphasized that Armenia will consistently make every effort to ensure the conference becomes an effective platform for making important decisions on environmental protection, as well as for strengthening priorities on the international agenda and developing strategic documents.
In the context of discussing sectoral issues, the parties touched upon the possibility of deepening cooperation in water resource management, exchanging experiences in implementing climate policy, as well as joint initiatives and capacity building.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to continuing effective dialogue and working cooperation to advance mutually beneficial programs and achieve practical results.
