ArmInfo. The Yerevan Municipality is prepared for the first snowfall, as was announced by Mayoral Advisor Kamo Areyan during a working meeting of the city's municipality on December 22.
He reported that a plan for sanitary cleaning and snow removal has already been developed, necessary resources (sand and salt mixtures) have been gathered, a list of measures has been compiled, and all responsible agencies have been notified.
According to the Mayoral Advisor, meetings were also held with the heads of the city's administrative districts to discuss issues related to the organization of the work and its schedule in detail. Areyan reported that a total of 241 units of snow removal equipment and 614 workers are available for the task. The heads of Yerevan's administrative districts have been assigned the responsibility of overseeing the work. He also pointed out a chronic problem faced by city authorities related to businesses' compliance with mandatory improvement and cleanup procedures in surrounding areas. Out of 9,088 businesses, only 4,156 are aware of the ongoing work.
In this regard, Areyan noted that district authorities are responsible for informing businesses.
