ArmInfo.  The authorities in Armenian continue to exert pressure  on David  Hambardzumyan and his supporters. Lawyer Gayane Papoyan wrote  on her  Facebook page.

According to her, for several days, employees of the Anti-Corruption  Committee have been actively inviting David Hambardzumyan's  supporters to "conversations" and conducting various activities that  clearly have a political pressure and revenge character. "The goal of  all this is to prevent people from effectively exercising their  constitutionally guaranteed right to participate in rallies, as  particular attention is being paid to those citizens who openly,  peacefully, and constitutionally expressed their position at the  public rally on September 26, defending the impeachment process of  the RA Prime Minister. What is now presented as a legal system has in  fact become a tool aimed at combating political dissent. We note that  all of this is selective in nature and constitutes political  persecution. We demand that these illegal actions be stopped and the  citizens' rights be fully realized," the lawyer emphasized.

Recall, former mayor of Masis and candidate for the post of Prime  Minister David Hambardzumyan was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in  prison  in a seven-year-old case,  in which not a single witness  testified against him in court. At the time, Hambartsumyan was  outside Armenia, but stated, "I don't even consider the thought of  fleeing from Nikol and the judicial system under his control. I will  return to Armenia soon." He did indeed return, after which he was  arrested.
