ArmInfo. Relations between Armenia and Iran are being built on mutual respect, trust, and good-neighborliness, which is particularly valuable in the South Caucasus region, as stated by Armenian Ambassador to Iran Grigor Hakobyan in an interview with Tasnim.
He added that the two nations are united by centuries-old historical ties, which have now evolved into dynamic and mutually beneficial cooperation spanning many areas.
"It's important to emphasize that these relations are developing not only through routine channels, but with a clear strategic vision for the future. I hope that these relations, already strategic, will soon be further strengthened through new frameworks for cooperation grounded in legal foundations," he said.
Speaking about the active mutual visits at various levels between the two countries, Hakobyan noted that this demonstrates continuous high-level political dialogue. "The year has been significant for trade, economic, and infrastructure cooperation. During President Pezeshkian's visit to Armenia, a business forum was held, and several programs aimed at expanding trade were implemented. Although the final economic data for 2025 has not yet been released, we already see that trade turnover is maintaining a steady growth trend. I am confident that joint initiatives, including major transport and energy projects, will elevate the cooperation between our countries to a qualitatively new level in the coming years. In conclusion, I can confidently state that Armenian-Iranian relations have not only maintained their high momentum but are also developing on a deeper and more strategic basis. Our work is aimed at transforming these positive trends into long-term, predictable, and mutually beneficial cooperation, creating new opportunities for the prosperity of both nations," he noted.
