ArmInfo. There are favorable conditions for the development of Armenian-Chinese relations in all areas, including the implementation of infrastructure projects, as stated by Armenian Ambassador to China Vahe Gevorgyan during the conference "Strengthening Chinese-Armenia Strategic Partnership: A Dialogue on Governance Experience Exchange."
In this regard, he mentioned the adoption of a joint statement on the launch of a strategic partnership by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin. The diplomat recalled that with this statement, the parties reaffirmed their mutual support on key issues related to territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the inviolability of borders. "Thus, for the first time, a document was adopted that considers interstate relations through the prism of three dimensions: bilateral, regional, and international cooperation. This partnership includes consensus on the principles, prospects, and agenda of cooperation. The adoption of this document is unprecedented for Armenian-Chinese relations," the Ambassador assured.
Gevorgyan pointed out that the joint statement is also significant for enhancing regional cooperation between the countries, particularly through mutual support for the Belt and Road and Crossroads of Peace initiatives. "Special attention is also being given to regional cooperation organizations, primarily the development of interaction within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)," Gevorgyan noted.
He recalled the Armenian Prime Minister's participation in the expanded SCO summit and Armenia's application for membership in the organization. In conclusion, the diplomat highlighted two key factors that, in his opinion, have contributed to the recent development of relations between the countries: the diversification of Armenia's foreign policy and the growing role of the SCO in international relations.
