ArmInfo. "Trump's Route for International Peace and Prosperity" TRIPP is not the "Zangezur Corridor" at all, as stated by Ruben Rubinyan, NA Deputy Prime Minister, to reporters on December 16, speaking about Tehran's concerns.
According to Rubinyan, Yerevan is in constantly in contact with its Iranian partners regarding the TRIPP project, informing Tehran about developments and taking into account sensitive issues and interests. He also emphasized that Armenia relies on the Iranian Foreign Ministry's position that the project takes into account Tehran's red lines.
"Firstly, it is ruled out that there will be any project in Armenia that will contradict Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and would not be under Armenia's full jurisdiction. Secondly, we take into account all vital interests of our neighbors, and in the case of Iran, these interests by and large coincide with those of Armenia. We don't think there's anything to worry about here.
In reality, the corridor is not only a red line for Iran, it is first and foremost Armenia's red line that there will be no extraterritorial corridor through its territory," Ruben Rubinyan said.
