ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan has denied rumors that it will no longer be possible to withdraw benefits and pensions from bank cards starting January 1, 2026.
"There is a rumor going around in some circles that withdrawing benefits and pensions from bank cards will no longer be possible starting January 1, which is an outright lie. While it is still possible, we don't encourage it. Non-cash transactions can actually result in a bonus, increasing your benefits and pensions by 20%, up to a maximum of 10,000 drams. Therefore, receiving and using pensions and benefits non-cash is also beneficial," Arsen Torosyan noted in a video posted on his Facebook page.
The Minister reminded that, starting April 1, 2026, all pensions and benefits will be transferred to pensioners and beneficiaries exclusively in non-cash form. He reported that 600,000 citizens of the Republic of Armenia already receive their benefits and pensions non-cash.
"I urge the remaining 58,000 of our citizens to do this themselves, without waiting until April 1, because it is beneficial. And once again, I ask you not to succumb to various false information and manipulations, and to follow only official news feeds," Arsen Torosyan said.
