Court hearing for Vardan Ghukasyan case postponed as witnesses failed  to appear

ArmInfo.  The court hearing in the case against the elected Gyumri mayor Vardan Ghukasyan has been postponed due to the failure of witnesses summoned by the  prosecution to appear, as stated by Ghukasyan's lawyer, Zaruhi  Postanjyan, when speaking with reporters on December 15.

However, the lawyer expressed doubts about the "quality of testimony"  of the witnesses summoned by the prosecution. Consequently, the  entire law enforcement system is simply  "consuming time." "It turned  out that some witnesses were not notified at all, while others were  notified but didn't appear. The court has decided to apply coercive  measures to ensure their presence in court," Postanjyan stated. The  next court hearing is scheduled for December 23.
