ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who has been actively campaigning against the Catholicos of All Armenians since May and demanding his resignation, despite the fact that the separate status of the Armenian Apostolic Church from the state remains one of the foundations of the constitutional order of the Republic of Armenia, has expressed his bewilderment at the fact that "the Church has been turned into a political party."
"There has long been no preaching on spiritual topics in ordinary churches in Armenia , while the liturgical order requires the priest celebrating the liturgy to deliver a sermon at a certain part of the service," he stated in a video posted on his Facebook page.
"They write, send political texts, say "Read" They have turned it into a political party, which is absolutely unacceptable and impermissible. That day's episode, I didn't know, they showed me that acting head of the Church comes out of the airport and asks, 'Where are the people?' But there are no people. There are no people because he wasn't for the people, because he has driven the people away from the church," Nikol Pashinyan said.
