Armenian Food Safety Inspectorate spokesperson: Measures are being  taken after the discovery of toxins in Nestle baby food

ArmInfo.  The Armenian Food Safety Inspectorate is aware of a toxin present in a batch of Nestle baby food and is taking appropriate preventative measures.  Anush Harutyunyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Food Safety  Inspectorate, announced this on her Facebook page.

"We have been aware of the issue since last week, measures are being  taken to address it, and we will publish the results," Harutyunyan  said.

Earlier, it was reported that Nestle will recall certain infant  formulas from European markets starting December 10 due to the  discovery of the cerulide toxin, produced by the bacterium Bacillus  cereus. As a result, all batches of formula containing this toxin  were blocked. This toxin can cause severe intoxication in children,  including vomiting and diarrhea.
