
ArmInfo. The Armenian army is the most trusted among respondents in Armenia, according to a survey conducted by a consulting company MPG "Molotok."
When asked which state institution or political figure they like, 63.4% said they are completely satisfied with the work of the Armenian Armed Forces, 18.4% somewhat like it, 5.4% somewhat dislike it, 9.2% do not like it at all, and 3.6% found it difficult to answer. The Armenian Apostolic Church ranks second, with 63.3% of respondents completely satisfied with its work, 14.4% somewhat satisfied, 3.9% somewhat dissatisfied, 15.5% completely dissatisfied, and 2.9% found it difficult to answer. In third place is businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party (PAP). 38.9% of respondents are satisfied with his performance, 29.1% are somewhat satisfied, 5.5% are somewhat dissatisfied, 22.2% are completely dissatisfied, and 4.4% were undecided. Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also made it to the top five.
Overall, 59.9% of respondents are satisfied with Karapetyan's performance, 32.5% are dissatisfied, and another 13.7% found it difficult to answer. Mirzoyan recorded an approval rating of over 50%, 39.9% are dissatisfied, and 9.7% found it difficult to answer.
The Armenian Prime Minister ranked only sixth, with 38.5% satisfied with his performance, 53.3% dissatisfied, and another 8.3% found it difficult to answer. Citizens are also dissatisfied with the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan. 56.6% rated his performance negatively, 36.8% positively, and 6.7% found it difficult to answer. A remarkable picture emerged with Armenian President Vahagn Khachatryan, as 27.1% of respondents found it difficult to evaluate his performance, 41.7% evaluated negatively, and only 31.3% were generally positive.
Citizens are most dissatisfied with the performance of the second and third presidents of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan. 71.4% of respondents are dissatisfied with Kocharyan's performance, 22.2% are satisfied, and another 6.4% found it difficult to answer. 73.6% are dissatisfied with Sargsyan's performance, 20.3% are satisfied, and another 6.1% found it difficult to answer. The most recognizable public and political figures in Armenia are former PAP member of parliament Naira Zohrabyan and the controversial head of the DOK party, Vardan Ghukasyan.
Note that the telephone survey was conducted with 1001 respondents from November 27 to December 5 in Armenia, with a sampling error of +/- 3%. In 2011, MPG became the official representative in Armenia of the Gallup International Association, one of the most prestigious and independent public opinion research organizations in the world.
