Primate of  Shirak Diocese to undergo surgery at  Izmirlyan Medical  Center

ArmInfo. The Primate of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, who was arrested for calling for a violent  overthrow of the government, will be transferred to the Izmirlyan  Medical Center for surgery. Ara Zohrabyan shared this information on  social media, along with  the corresponding decision from the  Armenian Ministry of Health.

Today, in a conversation with reporters, Health Minister Anahit  Avanesyan stated that she does not rule out the possibility of  surgery, emphasizing that the ministry has not previously rejected  requests regarding the bishop's health. According to her, the  previous document simply did not comply with established procedures,  and in order for the petition to be accepted and considered, it  should be properly completed.
