ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan established an interdepartmental commission on traffic regulation and congestion management on December 10. The commission will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, who will report to the prime minister every 15 days.
As a reminder, Pashinyan announced at a government meeting on November 27 that two working groups would be created in Armenia to address air pollution and congestion in Yerevan. He stated that the first working group would address air pollution issues, while the second would focus on traffic management and congestion management.
According to the Center for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring under the Ministry of Environment, dust concentrations in Yerevan have exceeded the permissible limit for nine days. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan stated at a municipal meeting on November 24 that the deteriorating air quality in Yerevan is not due to construction, but to toxic arson, fires, and emissions from wood-heated homes.
