ArmInfo. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement package presented by the Armenian authorities is incomplete and lacks essential documents that would ensure transparency throughout the negotiation process, as stated by Artur Khachatryan, NA member from the opposition "Armenia" faction, at a press briefing on December 5.
According to him, the missing documents pertain to the Madrid Principles, the OSCE Minsk Group proposals, and, of course, the Key West Agreements. Instead, they are publishing a piece of paper that was supposedly given to RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. "Three days ago, I presented several points from the Key West Agreements, which stipulated that Armenia would maintain control over a significant portion of Nagorno-Karabakh, with no demands from Azerbaijan. The Lachin Corridor would have the same status as Nagorno-Karabakh and all communications would be unblocked, not just Baku's consent to the transit of Kazakh grain to Yerevan. In exchange, Armenia had agreed to provide Azerbaijan with an unimpeded corridor to Nakhichevan, with this entire corridor, whether by air, land, or underground, under the control of the Armenian side," the parliamentarian emphasized.
He pointed out the paradox of the situation when the authorities claim they lack the relevant documents when everyone knew about it. "Did Lucifer really force this text to be brought and made public?" the oppositionist asked, presenting a document from 2019 that had previously been published. This document clearly stated that the people of Nagorno-Karabakh would have the opportunity to determine their future status, and this agenda would be unrestricted by anything or anyone. Moreover, no one would have the right to challenge this status. Moreover, Nagorno-Karabakh would receive a special status during the transition period to ensure the normal functioning of the region, and the opportunity to participate in discussions in international structures where the Artsakh issue would be discussed. Armenia would be considered a guarantor of the NKR's security.
"What was Pashinyan's reaction to this document? Let's compare the potential situation if he had accepted it with what actually happened. He did nothing, and it begs the question of whether this was intentional or a misunderstanding of the situation. Considering Pashinyan's well-known statement referring to Artsakh as a cancer, one can conclude that this was done intentionally," the opposition leader emphasized.
