


ArmInfo. A criminal case has been opened against journalist Tugce Yilmaz in Turkey for publishing about the Armenian Genocide.
According to media reports, the Istanbul prosecutor's office has charged Tugce Yilmaz, editor of the Bianet newspaper, with "insulting the Turkish nation, the Turkish Republic, and state bodies and structures" for an article interviewing Armenian youth in Turkey. The charges are being brought under Article 301 of the Turkish Criminal Code for a publication titled "The Turkish Army Tells Armenian Youth: 109 Years of Continued Mourning."
The journalist herself reported that the case against her was based on a message from a radical nationalist because she raised the topic of the Armenian Genocide. The court hearing took place on December 2, but was postponed until April 21, 2026.
