
ArmInfo. On the eve of International Human Rights Day, a presentation of the digital tool of the National Mechanism for Strengthening International Human Rights Accountability (AINEMRA/Institutional Network for Monitoring and Reporting of Armenia) was held.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the meeting was attended by the Human Rights Defender of the Republic, high-ranking representatives of various ministries and agencies, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, and civil society representatives.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisogomonyan noted that the launch of a digital human rights monitoring platform in Armenia is an important step towards creating a more modern, effective, and participatory monitoring system. He added that this is fully consistent with the priorities of Armenia's digitalization strategy, as well as the vision of increasing openness, transparency, and public accessibility of the public administration system. The importance of the AI-NEMRA platform as an embodiment of the synergy between human rights, innovative technologies, and diplomacy was emphasized. The opening session also featured remarks by UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Francoise Jacob, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Armenia Maxime Longenges, and Director of the Information Systems Agency Foundation Nerses Yeritsyan.
Karine Sujayan, Head of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs Department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, presented the structure and functions of the National Mechanism for Strengthening International Accountability for Human Rights, which operates under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She touched on the mechanism's work programs and the key capabilities and functions of its digital component, the AI-NEMRA platform.
It was emphasized that the creation of the digital tool provides new impetus for enhancing Armenia's engagement with international organizations, particularly monitoring bodies, thereby strengthening human rights and democracy in Armenia.
The event concluded with a presentation of the AI-NEMRA platform, the Armenian human rights monitoring network, which outlined its main functions and operating principles.
