ArmInfo. Due to weather conditions, the police and the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (RS MIA) of Armenia have switched to a heightened security regime on Armenia's roads. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, noting that the switch to a heightened security regime was carried out at the direction of Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan.
The ministry also reminded that driving on winter tires is mandatory from November 15 to March 31. Patrol officers are working around the clock to identify and prosecute drivers who violate the regulations. "For safety reasons, the Ministry of Internal Affairs urges drivers to drive exclusively on winter tires, to be vigilant, to strictly observe traffic rules, and, if necessary, to call 911 or 102," the ministry concluded. As a reminder, the fine for driving without winter tires is 5,000 drams, and if the offender's vehicle is involved in an accident, the fine is 20,000 drams. Last week, the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that approximately 2,500 drivers in Armenia had already been fined for driving on summer tires.
