ArmInfo. The meeting of 10 bishops of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), including Vrtanes Abrahamyan, the head of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was not coordinated with Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin I, as stated by the sixth president of Artsakh, Samvel Shahramanyan, in a conversation with reporters after a court hearing, referring to the meeting of the 10 bishops with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Shahramanyan mentioned that he spoke with the head of the Artsakh Diocese after this scandalous meeting with Pashinyan, who explained his reasons for participating in this meeting, which was anti-church in nature.
Additionally, the sixth president of Artsakh called for patience and advised against jumping to conclusions. He also admitted that, at the moment, the most regrettable thing for him is the confrontation between the current Armenian government and the Church. "I believe this process should take place behind closed doors, in a proper manner, without involving the general public," Shahramanyan said.
In conclusion, he stated that the Artsakh authorities would present their position at a later time.
