As of 8:00 AM on November 27, fires that broke out in the forest areas of the Dilijan Pass and near the "Mountainous Armenia" sanatorium in the Tavush region have been completely contained. This was reported by the press service of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Armenia.
According to the source, the fire in the "Kazachi" area of the Tavush region has been completely extinguished, there are no new outbreaks, and has also been contained in the Navur community of the Tavush region. Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported that as of 9:00 PM on November 26, Armenian firefighters had also completely extinguished fires in the village of Dzorashen in the Shirak region, on the Chambarak-Ttujur road in the Gegharkunik region, and in the village of Verin Khand in the Syunik region.
The previous evening, the ministry also reported the death of firefighter Taron Simonyan, a rescue service sergeant, in the line of duty, and the injury of four rescuers. The Armenian Ministry of Healthcare later reported that three of the injured rescuers were hospitalized in Yerevan for further treatment, and another received treatment at the regional Medical Center.
