ArmInfo. In the current situation, the Armenian- Azerbaijani "peace" process is fraught with numerous dangers and uncertainties, including the issue of the de facto legitimization of the enclaves and sovereign territories of Armenia occupied by Azerbaijan. Armen Ashotyan, Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, representatives of the ruling regime in Armenia, are echoing the words of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan like trained parrots, insisting that these two issues must be resolved through delimitation and demarcation, which he believes is a monstrous lie. The politician argues that border delimitation is not an adequate solution for determining the fate of so-called enclaves and territories occupied by the enemy. He points to international practice (including the OSCE's approaches), which suggest that the enclave issue can be resolved through mutual agreements and exchanges, which is a separate matter from delimitation, that the Armenian side should focus on.
Actual de-enclavement with Azerbaijan should have been clearly enshrined in the relevant document, especially given the strategic significance of the matter. "As for the de-occupation of our sovereign territories, linking it to delimitation is simply absurd, as only disputed territories can be the subject of delimitation, while the overwhelming majority of occupied Armenian lands today are far from this status. Of course, both Azerbaijan and Nikol's cabinet understand this. However, the current regime prefers to deceive and mislead its own people in order to "reduce" concessions that are inevitable and become inevitable under its rule. In fact, neither "enclaves" nor de-occupation are related to delimitation, which will be carried out with the logic of "don't die, donkey, spring will come."
