


ArmInfo. For the fourth day, intensive firefighting efforts continue to extinguish the fire that broke out in the Chambarak-Ttujur area of the Gegharkunik region on November 21, according to the press service of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
According to the source, 343 rescuers, 6 units of primary equipment, and a helicopter from the Ministry of Defense are involved in the firefighting efforts, as well as drones. "A total of 1,194 rescuers, 16 primary and 88 units of secondary equipment participated in the firefighting effort. A Ministry of Defense helicopter, which has already made 23 flights, provided reconnaissance and firefighting services," the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
The ministry noted that the fire started in a grassy area on a hillside. A firefighting headquarters was established to ensure a rapid response, and units from the Yerevan City Rescue Department, as well as the Lori, Ararat, Aragatsotn, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Tavush regions, were deployed to the firefighting effort. According to the source, police officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, environmental patrol service personnel, and residents of nearby villages were also involved in the firefighting effort.
