The International Organization of La Francophonie is a unique platform for strengthening peace, protecting human rights, and promoting sustainable development, as stated by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan in his opening remarks at the closed meeting "What ambitions should the International Organization of La Francophonie pursue in shaping a new international world order?", held on the sidelines of the 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie in Kigali.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, in his speech, Abisoghomonyan touched upon the challenges of multilateral cooperation in the current geopolitical situation. He emphasized the importance of an adequate response and joint efforts to overcome these challenges, as well as the implementation of stronger and more effective international mandates. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia addressed recent developments in the South Caucasus and presented the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, reaffirming the Republic's commitment to advancing the peace agenda and emphasizing the need to institutionalize peace and create an atmosphere of trust. In this regard, details of a regional blockade based on the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of each country were also presented to member states.
