A comprehensive exchange of views on the current state and prospects of Azerbaijani-American bilateral cooperation, the progress of peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as issues of regional and global security, took place during a meeting between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker.
According to Azerbaijani media, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the meeting emphasized the agreements reached during the "historic Washington meeting on August 8," and the significance of joint efforts to further develop the strategic partnership. The role of cooperation in regional stability, energy security, and the expansion of transport corridors was also highlighted. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry informed that Baku expressed interest in accelerating work on the US-implemented "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity," aimed at ensuring "unhindered" connectivity between the mainland of Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East and other pressing regional issues.
