ArmInfo. The man who robbed a bank yesterday has already left the Republic of Armenia. Raffi Aslanyan, lawyer and former Yerevan prosecutor, wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, this is yet another case of a criminal going into hiding due to the late disclosure of a socially dangerous act committed in a public place. "I have repeatedly stated that such shortcomings and the low effectiveness of the fight against crime are a consequence of the politicization of law enforcement agencies in the Republic of Armenia. They work tirelessly to protect the body and power of one person, engaging in blatantly illegal actions against the opposition, and their human and technical resources are certainly not limitless. First and foremost, citizens of the Republic of Armenia suffer from this, as they are not protected from crime," the lawyer noted.
It should be noted that the day before, a robbery was committed at a VTB Armenia bank branch on Shinararneri Street in Yerevan. A man broke into the bank with a sign on his chest that threatened to detonate explosives if his demands for money were not met within 20 seconds. The attacker stole over 1 million drams and fled. According to the crime news website Shamshyan.com, the suspect has been identified as Hovhannes B., a 32-year-old a resident of Yerevan with multiple previous convictions. He managed to leave the country through the Bagratashen checkpoint on the same day. A criminal case has been initiated on this fact.
