
ArmInfo. A government commission for funeral arrangements has been formed in connection with the death of People's Artist of Armenia Khachik Badalyan. The decision to establish the commission was signed by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Based on paragraph 2 of the RA Government's decision of November 23, 2006, I hereby decree:
1. To establish a commission for funeral arrangements in connection with the death of People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia Khachik Badalyan and approve its composition.
2. The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia shall submit a corresponding proposal to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia within 20 days based on the funeral expenses report submitted by the commission," the decision, distributed by the Cabinet of Ministers' press service, states.
The commission will be headed by RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan. It will include representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, the Ministry of Finance, the Governor of the Shirak Region, and other officials. The artist's death was announced yesterday. His passing marks a farewell to an entire era, to a legendary generation of artists whose lives have become history, and whose work is a treasure trove of Armenian art. Khachik Badalyan was born on July 28, 1940, in Leninakan (now Gyumri). His artistic career began in his hometown, where he graduated from the acting studio at the A. Mravyan Leninakan State Drama Theater from 1960 to 1962. From 1962 onward, he served at the V. Adjemyan Gyumri State Drama Theater. From 1989 to 1995, the artist dedicated his career to the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theater in Yerevan, enriching its repertoire with his creative works. His dedication to art and outstanding talent were recognized with high state awards. In 1989, he received the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR, in 2009 he was awarded the Movses Khorenatsi medal, and in 2015, the highest title of People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia. Khachik Badalyan's immense creative contribution-over a hundred roles-is a testament to his artistic legacy. He was more than just an actor, but a soldier of the stage, whose heart beat in unison with the audience's.
