
ArmInfo. Miguel Brechner, President of the Seibal Center for Digital Education in Urugvay, reaffirmed his countries' willingness to enhance cooperation in technological education and innovation during a meeting with Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MESCS) of Armenia.
As reported to ArmInfo by the Ministry's press service, he presented the organization's activities in this vein, noting that regional artificial intelligence (AI) laboratories have been established and other programs are being implemented thanks to the state educational initiative Seibal. Brechner mentioned that these programs include the development of AI tools for teachers, students, and an education management system. Andersyan, in turn, highlighted that advanced training in artificial intelligence and AI literacy have become components of the Armenian curriculum. She also noted that the "Generation Artificial Intelligence" educational program has been implemented in several high schools across the country for the third year.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of strengthening the friendly relations established between Armenia and Uruguay, particularly in education and science. Specifically, she stressed the importance of exchanging experiences in digital education. In this regard, Andreasyan presented the delegation with innovative technological education programs in the Armenian educational system, successfully exported abroad.
In the context of integrating formal and informal education, the Minister highlighted the activities of the Armath engineering laboratory and the Fab Lab digital manufacturing laboratory, as well as the TUMO and COAF centers. The meeting also involved discussions on the potential collaboration in higher education and research, along with other matters of mutual interest.
