Cooperation, friendship, and a strategic partnership between Georgia and Armenia are of great importance for both countries and for the well-being and stability of the region, as stated by Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili during a joint briefing following a meeting with her Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan.
According to her, Georgia and Armenia successfully cooperate in various formats, and this work will continue in the international arena. "Relations between Georgia and Armenia are based on a long history of mutual respect and strong friendship between our peoples. Therefore, the strategic partnership strengthened between our countries since 2024 is a completely logical result of this deep relationship. 2025 was quite a dynamic year for relations between our countries-numerous visits took place, including at the highest level," the diplomat noted, according to Georgia-Online.
She also announced the Armenian President's upcoming visit to Tbilisi. "We also expect a visit from the President in the near future. It is safe to say that the friendship between our peoples and the ties between our countries are fully reflected in the intensity of our political dialogue. Our bilateral cooperation is developing dynamically in various areas: trade, economics, transport, tourism, culture, education, and other areas, which is extremely important. The relevant ministries are successfully working to maximize the implementation of our relations," Bochorishvili added. She also reported that she and Mirzoyan discussed areas of cooperation, priorities, next steps, and various issues of interaction, as well as the situation in the region.
"Georgia welcomes the peace agreement signed on August 8 in Washington between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This historic agreement is a significant step towards establishing sustainable peace in the South Caucasus and paves the way for the region's long-term stable development. Georgia has always played a vital role in the region's peaceful and stable development, and will continue to contribute to strengthening regional cooperation. In this context, I would like to note that this year, the first trilateral meeting between Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan was held in Tbilisi with the aim oft laying the foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of the South Caucasus. I hope this cooperation will continue and yield significant results for the three countries and the entire region. Armenia has always shown unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is also evident at the international level," she said. According to her, Yerevan and Tbilisi successfully cooperate in various formats and international organizations, expressing their desire to continue this mutually beneficial work in the international arena.
