ArmInfo. The traditional Armenian-Georgian friendship opens up great opportunities for mutual ties, which could contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat
Mirzoyan during a joint statement with his Georgian counterpart, Maka Bochorishvili.
According to him, the strategic partnership should contribute to deepening the interconnectedness between the countries.
"Each of our countries individually, as well as the entire South Caucasus region, which possesses enormous potential, must be connected to each other and to other regions in order to strengthen ties. In this context, the 'Crossroads of Peace' project is nothing new. The Armenian Prime Minister presented this project in Georgia. The peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the assistance of the US President, in our opinion, will contribute to the development of the region. Our region can truly become a crossroads. Unblocking the infrastructure between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the 'Trump Road' in Armenia, within the framework of an international development program based on the principles of territorial integrity and other approaches, gives us many opportunities for advancement and also ensures stability," Ararat Mirzoyan said, according to Georgia-Online.
According to him, Europe and Central Asia will be connected via the Georgian railway. He added that Armenia's vision is to be connected to the entire world.
"The traditional Armenian-Georgian friendship offers tremendous opportunities for ties, which can contribute to the development of our relations. Through strategic partnership, we should be able to deepen our mutual connection.
Today, my colleague and I discussed this approach, and I believe there is a mutual understanding that is beneficial to both sides. Naturally, we also discussed business issues, and I believe we will reach an agreement on this issue as well," the Armenian diplomat added.
Regarding cultural cooperation, the Armenian Foreign Minister noted the importance of holding cultural days in Armenia and Georgia. "Next spring, we will attend the European Political Community summit. I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Maka Bochorishvili for deepening and promoting the strategic relationship between Armenia and Georgia," Ararat Mirzoyan stated.
