ArmInfo. According to various public opinion polls, approximately 30% of Armenian citizens consider Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a traitor. Hayk Mamijanyan, leader of the opposition parliamentary opposition faction With Honor, stated this at a press conference on November 14, responding to the Prime Minister's accusations against the opposition from the parliamentary rostrum.
As a reminder, Pashinyan stated the day before that the opposition in Armenia is an agent of foreign states. According to him, in 2018, Armenia was in the "pocket" of the country whose agents of influence are the current opposition forces. "Today, Armenia is an independent state. It is not only independent, but also possesses a center of sovereign will.
It is capable of making independent decisions," the Prime Minister emphasized. He added that Armenia ended up "in the pocket" of that country due to the situation in Karabakh. The country has now been rescued from this trap. Pashinyan also stated that this opposition should not be represented in the new parliament.
In this regard, as Mamijanyan noted, it is not those citizens who simply express dissatisfaction with his government's policies who consider Pashinyan traitors, but those who truly consider him a traitor. Against this backdrop, listening to the prime minister's statements yesterday from the podium of the National Assembly during the discussions of the 2026 draft state budget should not come as a surprise. "He has proven with his own actions that he serves the agenda of other countries," the parliamentarian noted, adding that if one traces all the facts back to 2018, it becomes clear whose orders Pashinyan is carrying out, who instructs him, and who still serves as his handlers. Furthermore, as the opposition leader emphasized, given the treacherous nature of the prime minister's policies, not only should he not be in the National Assembly, but he should not even be in the Republic of Armenia. "I think that sooner or later, the country's citizens will tell him about this. The last thing we need is for him to decide who should be in parliament and who shouldn't," the opposition figure said.
He added that the insults and lies that have permeated the country's political landscape, along with the sub- par discussions, were started by none other than Nikol Vovaevich Pashinyan.
